Acosta Finishes 12th Despite Strong Saturday Morning at Jerez

Pedro Acosta paid a big price for a small mistake in the Jerez Sprint, finishing 12th after starting sixth from a strong Q1 recovery. The championship’s third-placed rider had been more competitive in Saturday morning’s wet practice, topping the session and qualifying as the fastest KTM in sixth. Acosta’s title rivals Bezzecchi and Martin both failed to score, yet the Spaniard was unable to capitalise on a golden opportunity to close the gap at the front.
