Toprak Handed Long Lap Penalty After Taking Out Savadori in Jerez Sprint

Toprak Razgatlioglu was handed a long lap penalty for Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix after stewards ruled he caused a crash with Aprilia wildcard Lorenzo Savadori at Turn 5 during the Jerez Sprint. Razgatlioglu apologised after the race, explaining he hit a dirty part of the track while attempting to pass Savadori and Morbidelli as the rain began to fall. It marks his first penalty since joining MotoGP.
