Yamaha boss Massimo Meregalli admits V4 project is tougher than expected

Yamaha team manager Massimo Meregalli admits the manufacturer’s new V4 project is proving tougher than anticipated. Speaking at the Jerez test, Meregalli confessed he expected the transition from the inline four to be slightly easier. Yamaha has struggled in early 2026, scoring just 14 points across four rounds. The technical overhaul has already led star rider Fabio Quartararo to sign with Honda for 2027.
