No More Shortcuts: MotoGP Closes Jerez Pitlane Loophole After Marquez Controversy

MotoGP Race Direction issued an updated pitlane entry protocol with immediate effect from Le Mans, stating the only permitted pitlane entry is via the designated entry point and route defined by the broken white line, crossing the designated timing point. The change was dubbed the anti-Marquez rule in the paddock after his Jerez Sprint shortcut exposed a loophole that Race Direction had not previously covered. Some ambiguity within the new wording still remains.
