Sidecar pairing Maria Costello MBE and passenger Shaun Parker were hospitalised following an incident at Brandish during the second lap of the first Sidecar qualifying session at the 2026 Isle of Man TT. Maria was flown to Nobles Hospital by Airmed with reported head injuries. Shaun was taken by ambulance with reported leg and arm injuries. Both were reported as conscious and talking. The session was not restarted. Our thoughts are with them both.

The Isle of Man TT has issued a full statement on the Parliament Square incident that cancelled day one of TT 2026 qualifying. A red flag was issued at 13:30 during the opening free practice session. One competitor exited Parliament Square and made contact with a number of spectators. The rider was taken to Nobles Hospital conscious and talking with leg injuries. Eight spectators were also taken to Nobles Hospital, all conscious, for further assessment and treatment. Tuesday evening practice at 6.30pm remains scheduled.

Tuesday evening practice is scheduled to begin at 6.30pm local time.

Dunlop Picks Honda Over Ducati for TT 2026 Superbike Races

The biggest question of TT 2026 has been answered. Michael Dunlop’s Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade is in the MD Racing tent on the opening day of practice, ending weeks of speculation over whether the Ducati Panigale V4 R would make its TT Superbike debut. Dunlop will ride a BMW M1000RR in Superstock, a Ducati V2 in Supersport and a Paton in the Sportbike class. The 2026 Isle of Man TT begins today Monday 25 May and runs until Saturday 6 June, with ten races scheduled across the fortnight including two Superbike, two Superstock, two Supersport, two Sportbike and two Sidecar contests.
