Marc Marquez won a thrilling MotoGP Sprint race in Brazil after passing Fabio Di Giannantonio in the closing laps and holding him off to the finish. The Ducati rider crossed the line just two tenths ahead. Jorge Martin secured third on his return to the podium while early challenger Fabio Quartararo faded from the front group.

Fabio Quartararo enjoyed a fierce fight with Marc Marquez during the Brazilian MotoGP Sprint as Yamaha showed strong pace with its developing V4 package. Quartararo passed Marquez in a clean move and secured Yamaha’s best Sprint result so far this season. The French rider said the overtake proved he still has the speed and confidence to battle at the front.

Fabio Quartararo delivered Yamaha’s best result of the 2026 season with sixth place in the Brazilian Grand Prix Sprint, even passing Marc Marquez early in the race before eventually settling into sixth behind Ai Ogura. Despite the encouraging result, Quartararo remained cautious, insisting he has no concrete objectives before mid season and confirming the Yamaha still lacks top speed and cornering performance.

MotoGP’s Brazilian Grand Prix faces its latest crisis after a sinkhole opened on the main straight at the Autodromo Ayrton Senna following qualifying. Emergency crews are excavating a waist deep hole measuring approximately two metres by one metre, filling it with gravel before relaying fresh asphalt. Moto2 and Moto3 qualifying have been postponed while organisers race to save the MotoGP Sprint race scheduled for 3pm local time.

Marco Bezzecchi lines up second on the grid for the Brazilian GP, just 0.070 seconds behind pole man Fabio Di Giannantonio. Both men are on VR46 Ducatis. A front row lockout for the Valentino Rossi academy. Bezzecchi arrives in Brazil seven points behind championship leader Pedro Acosta. A win on Sunday would put him right in the title fight.
