MotoGP rookie Diogo Moreira is eager to follow Marc Marquez on track as often as possible after learning from the champion’s aggressive corner entry style during Thailand practice. The Brazilian, who regularly trains with both Marc and Alex Marquez, also revealed he borrowed the reigning champion’s gloves for his debut race after his own pair did not fit properly. Moreira scored points on debut finishing 13th.

Reigning MotoGP champion Marc Marquez has ruled out matching Valentino Rossi’s remarkable career longevity, insisting he will not race until the age of 40. Speaking at an event in Brazil, the 33 year old said he hopes to extend his career as long as possible but acknowledged multiple surgeries make a Rossi style farewell tour impossible. Marquez described himself as being in his final dance as a rider.

MotoGP’s historic return to Brazil is under serious threat after torrential rain flooded the Autodromo Internacional Ayrton Senna in Goiania this week. The circuit was hit by heavy rain on both Monday and Tuesday, with the paddock access tunnel submerged under 25cm of water and parts of the track itself also affected. Goiania’s Civil Defence issued an emergency flooding alert as organisers race to clear the circuit with 48 hours remaining before practice begins.

Honda HRC has officially confirmed Jonathan Rea will replace the injured Jake Dixon at the Portimao WorldSBK round on March 27 to 29, partnering Somkiat Chantra who returns from injury. The six time champion retired from full time racing at the end of 2025 before joining Honda as test rider, making Portimao his first race with Honda since 2014.

Toprak Razgatlioglu made significant progress at the Thailand MotoGP opener after accepting the Yamaha M1 cannot be ridden like a Superbike. The three time WorldSBK champion spent winter testing trying to replicate his Superbike setup on the prototype before realising there are things he should not compromise. Yamaha boss Paolo Pavesio confirmed satisfaction with Toprak’s debut, saying he managed to ride very close to the other Yamaha riders.

Triple MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo is 100 percent certain Pedro Acosta will replace Francesco Bagnaia at factory Ducati for 2027. Lorenzo said Acosta made the right choice to join Ducati, adding he will have the same package as Marquez and will be very good. He also backed Bagnaia’s expected Aprilia move, saying Pecco needed a fresh environment after feeling psychologically drained alongside Marquez at Ducati.

WorldSBK heads to the iconic Autodromo Internacional do Algarve for Round 2 on March 27 to 29, with Nicolo Bulega arriving as championship leader after a dominant hat trick at Phillip Island. Ducati have traditionally enjoyed strong results at Portimao, making Bulega the clear favourite heading into the Rollercoaster Round. Alex Lowes topped the pre round test for Bimota Kawasaki, hinting at a potential upset.
