Youngest TT 2026 Rider Stephenson Takes Newcomers Trophy

Twenty year old Rhys Stephenson won the Vernon Cooper Newcomers Trophy and the RST Star of Tomorrow award at TT 2026, becoming the youngest rider in the event’s field this year. Stephenson set a best lap of 114.073mph and finished 24th in the Sportbike race to claim his first bronze replica despite limited track time during race week. He impressed throughout the event with his attitude and his commitment to learning the Mountain Course properly on every single lap.

Dunlop Seven Trophies at TT 2026 After Three Race Wins

Michael Dunlop matched Dean Harrison with seven trophies at TT 2026, claiming the Supersport double and the Sportbike Race 1 victory. His wins earned him the TT Supporters Club Trophy for overall Supersport honours, the Gavin Lee Trophy for Sportbike, the Joe Craig Trophy for a new Sportbike lap record at 124.530mph and the Martin Finnegan Trophy for the fastest lap by an Irish rider. Dunlop has won that Irish lap trophy every year since 2010.

Harrison Claims Seven TT 2026 Trophies After Big Bike Double

Dean Harrison walked away from TT 2026 as the most decorated rider of the week, claiming seven trophies in total. The Honda rider won the Superbike and Senior TT races, the Joey Dunlop Trophy as overall big bike winner and four fastest lap awards including the Jimmy Simpson Trophy for the fastest lap of race week at 135.166mph. Harrison also set the quickest Supersport lap at 129.218mph. Seven trophies. Two race wins. The clear man of the meeting.

Harrison and Dunlop Win Seven Trophies Each at TT 2026 Awards

Dean Harrison and Michael Dunlop dominated the TT 2026 award ceremony, winning seven trophies each despite a weather disrupted race week. Harrison walked away as the top cash earner at £66,510, winning the Superbike and Senior TT races while Dunlop collected £48,600 for three race wins including a 10th consecutive Supersport victory. Honda Racing UK won both the Solo Team Championship and Solo Manufacturer Championship awards. Barry Furber won the Privateer’s Cup. Rhys Stephenson, 20, took the Vernon Cooper Newcomers Trophy at 114.073mph.

Pirelli Rejects Marquez Tyre Claim Ahead of MotoGP 2027 Role

Pirelli has confirmed it will not build a tyre around Marc Marquez ahead of becoming MotoGP’s sole tyre supplier from 2027. Pirelli director Piero Barbier said the intention is not to make a Marquez tyre and that it is simply not their style or way of working. Only five contracted 2027 riders can test the new Pirelli at Brno on June 22. Marquez, Bezzecchi, Aldeguer, Toprak and Moreira get first access. KTM has no contracted 2027 rider available for the test.

Bulega Wins Race 2 at Misano for 25th Straight WorldSBK Victory

Nicolo Bulega completed a perfect Misano weekend by winning Race 2 to claim his 25th consecutive WorldSBK victory. The Italian finished five seconds clear of Iker Lecuona at the flag, with Yari Montella completing a third straight Ducati podium lockout of the weekend after Axel Bassani crashed out of third at Turn 8. Bulega has now won all 21 races staged in 2026. Nobody in WorldSBK history has ever reached 25 consecutive victories.

MotoGP Wildcards Banned from 2027 Season by Grand Prix Commission

The Grand Prix Commission has confirmed wildcards will be banned from MotoGP from 2027 onwards, applying to all manufacturers regardless of concessions ranking. Wildcards will continue in Moto2 and Moto3. An immediate ban also covers 2026 wildcards from running 850cc prototype machinery this season. The move ends a long-standing tradition that gave test riders and returning riders a route back onto the MotoGP grid.

MotoGP Concorde Agreement Signed for 2027 to 2031 Era

MotoGP’s new Concorde Agreement has been approved by both manufacturers and independent teams, binding all parties from 2027 through to the end of 2031 with an option to extend until 2036. Both sides will formally ratify the deal at the Czech Grand Prix in Brno. The deal ends months of fractious negotiations and clears the road for the 850cc era. A fixed annual fee structure was retained after a percentage revenue share was rejected by the promoter.

Fabio Di Giannantonio Undergoes Successful Surgery 

Pertamina Enduro VR46 rider Fabio Di Giannantonio has undergone a successful minor medical procedure in Rome to fully correct a lingering finger injury sustained during the Catalan Grand Prix. The Italian had been riding through intense pain, which worsened after he was collected in Sunday's Turn 1 pile-up at Balaton Park. Di Giannantonio is expected to make a full recovery for Brno. 

Aragon Named Official MotoGP Reserve Circuit From 2028 Through 2031

Dorna and regional officials have finalized a new five-year agreement keeping MotorLand Aragon on the calendar for the 2027 season before the Spanish venue transitions into MotoGP's official backup track from 2028 through 2031. The deal guarantees the popular Alcañiz circuit remains fully race-ready to step in if any international or newly planned events fall off the increasingly crowded schedule.
