Toprak Razgatlioglu struggles with Yamaha V4 during difficult Brazil Sprint

Toprak Razgatlioglu faced a frustrating MotoGP Sprint race in Brazil after admitting he could barely control Yamaha’s V4 machine in race conditions. The Pramac rider entered Saturday with growing confidence following a breakthrough performance in practice but saw his progress stall once the Sprint began.

Razgatlioglu impressed on Friday by finishing third in practice and securing a place in Q2 for the first time since his move to MotoGP. The result marked a significant step forward as he continued adapting to the demands of the premier class. His aggressive riding style and strong braking technique appeared to suit the Goiania layout during early sessions.

Race conditions told a different story. Razgatlioglu reported severe grip issues and instability once tyre wear increased. The V4 bike became difficult to manage under acceleration and during corner exits. These problems prevented him from maintaining the pace required to stay with the lead group.

The Turkish rider gradually dropped down the order as rivals with more stable packages found consistent rhythm. Despite pushing hard to recover positions, he could not overcome the limitations he faced in race trim. The Sprint result ended hopes of building on his promising start to the weekend.

The experience highlighted the steep learning curve Razgatlioglu continues to face in MotoGP. Transitioning from World Superbike machinery to prototype bikes demands significant adjustments in riding technique and race management. Brazil underlined how small setup changes and tyre behaviour can dramatically influence performance.

Razgatlioglu and Yamaha will now focus on analysing data from the Sprint to improve stability and grip for the main race. The weekend still offered encouraging signs through his practice speed and qualifying progress. Turning that pace into consistent race results remains the next major target as his rookie season unfolds.
