V4 project faces early setback

Yamaha endured a difficult start to the 2026 MotoGP season at Buriram, with its best finisher Fabio Quartararo only 14th and over 30 seconds behind race winner Marco Bezzecchi. All four bikes finished outside the top 13. The team cancelled rider media appearances and admitted a large performance gap, as the new V4 machine lacked speed, grip and clear development direction.
