Yamaha’s new V4-powered MotoGP machine endured a nightmare debut at the 2026 Thailand Grand Prix, with all four bikes failing to reach Q2 and Fabio Quartararo finishing a distant 14th. Managing director Paolo Pavesio admitted the factory faces a significant challenge, but confirmed the V4 project is a deliberate long-term investment ahead of MotoGP’s 850cc regulation change in 2027.
