Scott Redding delivered when it mattered at the 2026 BSB Donington Park round, taking Race 1 victory on the Hager PBM Ducati on Saturday afternoon. Redding had topped FP1 on Friday and backed it up when the flag dropped. Max Cook gave the Bimota a stunning second place and Kyle Ryde, who had smashed the all-time Donington lap record in pre-qualifying, had to settle for third. Redding is on the board.
Yari Montella is becoming one of the stories of the 2026 WorldSBK season. The Barni Spark Ducati rider completed the Race 1 podium at Most behind Bulega and Lecuona, continuing his run of strong results at the sharp end of the grid. Baldassarri, Alex Lowes, Locatelli, Surra and Manzi rounded out the top ten as Ducati machinery filled the entire Race 1 podium once again at Most.
Garrett Gerloff backed up his stunning Friday performance at Most with the best Kawasaki result of the weekend. The American finished fourth in Race 1, the top non-Ducati finisher on the day, with Axel Bassani completing the top five behind him. Gerloff had said his target for the weekend was a top five and he delivered exactly that. A statement result for Kawasaki on a circuit that has not always suited them.
Alvaro Bautista’s Czech Round ended before Race 1 had even started. The Barni Spark Ducati rider fractured his right ankle in FP3 this morning and was ruled out of Race 1 at Most entirely. Bautista had two wins at this circuit in previous seasons and arrived in the Czech Republic in solid form. A bitter blow for the Spaniard and for what had shaped up to be a competitive Barni weekend.
Nicolo Bulega wins again. Race 1 at Most was red flagged on lap two after a Petrucci crash, restarted over 21 laps, and Bulega led from the off on the restart. Lecuona pushed him hard but Bulega pulled the pin with 0.8 seconds in hand on the final lap. Montella completed the podium, with Gerloff fourth and Bassani fifth. Seventeen straight wins. Nobody can live with this man.
Nicolo Bulega smashed the lap record at Autodrom Most to claim pole position at the 2026 Czech WorldSBK round. The Aruba.it Ducati rider heads into Saturday’s Race 1 from the front of the grid as he bids to extend his unbeaten run in 2026. Bulega arrives at Most with an 82 point championship lead over teammate Iker Lecuona. Nobody has come close to stopping him yet. Most might not be different.
A fire broke out at the Autodrom Most paddock ahead of the 2026 Czech WorldSBK Round, caused by a generator, with explosions followed by flames producing significant smoke before firefighters arrived within minutes to extinguish the blaze. The incident left a significant part of the paddock without power, affecting hospitality areas, team tents, Pirelli trucks and the media centre. WorldSBK confirmed power was restored by 14:00 local time, with race direction and the medical centre unaffected throughout. Racing went ahead as planned.
Franco Morbidelli delivered one of the qualifying surprises of the 2026 MotoGP season at Barcelona. The VR46 Ducati rider came through Q1 and then shocked the field by claiming second on the grid, with Alex Marquez alongside him on the front row behind polesitter Pedro Acosta. Morbidelli topped Q1 with a 1m38.550s, with his fastest lap initially deleted for track limits before the result stood. Morbidelli starts front row.
Jorge Martin crashed three times across Friday and Saturday at the 2026 Catalan Grand Prix but still clawed his way through Q1 and into the main qualifying session. Martin set the best time of the weekend at 1m38.701s during Q1, just 0.096 seconds clear of Bastianini, before going down again at Turn 5. The Aprilia rider will start ninth on the grid.
Marco Bezzecchi came to Barcelona as MotoGP championship leader and leaves qualifying on the back foot. The Aprilia rider crashed late in Q2 and will start Sunday’s race from 12th on the grid. With title rival Jorge Martin starting ninth, Bezzecchi faces a damage limitation race at a circuit where he has never previously stood on the MotoGP podium. The lead is under serious pressure.
